The grouping of cards with the one and the previous with the Sun are particularly interesting, and the Chariot being the common card gives food for thought. Thank you for sharing this with us.Kilianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04331306831892847839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9138744388253677659.post-37448848154602684252013-05-29T12:39:43.505-07:002013-05-29T12:39:43.505-07:00Thanks for this enlightning take on the Tower Card...Thanks for this enlightning take on the Tower Card. It is indeed one of the most mystical and unsettling. i don't find it much in my spreads but when I do I search for meaning that i can relate to. I really related to your take. Today i found the Tower flanked by the Knight of Swords and The Lovers and then the 3 of wands. stephenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02461492990060901053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9138744388253677659.post-68452056079438899972013-04-07T11:18:07.253-07:002013-04-07T11:18:07.253-07:00Good, common-sense, easy-to-follow instructions on...Good, common-sense, easy-to-follow instructions on getting to know a deck. I particularly agree with the "spend time with your deck" advice. The more time you spend with the deck, in various moods, the more alive the cards will be. I use my cards for meditation and contemplation as well as for readings. Tarot is a tool that can be used many ways.Kilianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04331306831892847839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9138744388253677659.post-2853966125692674252012-12-09T09:32:04.258-08:002012-12-09T09:32:04.258-08:00Awesome!Awesome!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9138744388253677659.post-57777890030889812962012-10-02T18:19:05.332-07:002012-10-02T18:19:05.332-07:00Side note: the people at the store never asked if ...Side note: the people at the store never asked if clients wanted it to be motivational or uplifting. They would ask if the client wanted the truth or not..
You can be motivational and uplifting whether or not whether it is what you call a "dark" reading or what you call a "light" reading. Personally, I like the truth, so I can be prepared, rather than expect that everything will be ok, and then have it be hard.. I guess it depends on how one approaches life.
Tell me in a year if this is an easy year ;) I look forward to hearing your answer.odilenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9138744388253677659.post-89087370933356523912012-10-02T17:05:31.236-07:002012-10-02T17:05:31.236-07:00This is a great spread. I'm not at the point where I feel confident of my own skills to try to develop my own spread, but Iris has inspired me to think outside the Celtic Cross box. I noticed that Judith also uses a spread she developed for herself. Now I am one of those collectors you speak of, surrounded by a variety of decks. For my own personal use, though, I fall back on the Rider-Waite. I have spent more time with its images, and it is a familiar friend. I'm feeling the lure of the Ciro Marchetti decks, though. The images are so beautiful and evocative. Always room for another deck on my shelves.

When making a choice, it helps to have a clear sense of how the deck will be used. One deck that is useful for divination might be very different from a deck used for meditation, and that deck different from the one used for appreciation of the beauty of the images.

We are blessed to live in a time when so many decks are available, something for everybody.Kilianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04331306831892847839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9138744388253677659.post-80861132893810513922012-01-18T08:31:04.174-08:002012-01-18T08:31:04.174-08:00Judy, what a wonderful post.

Beautiful imagery in your writing, as always, and much for contemplation. It's appealing to think about a plant's strength of will, too--maybe, if we had more "fearless experiments" in education, American society would have more children with such single minded tenacity, growing always towards the sun :)

I think most of us tend to be more like broiler chickens, though. Mindlessly consumers, indifferent to the sun. I wonder what Burbank would think of modern America.Pauline Westhttp://paulinewest.weebly.com/index.htmlnoreply@blogger.com
